My 1966 Chrysler 300 Project: Pictures
The Engine My 300 Etc. 300 History

Pictures
The pictures should open in individual windows. They go from left to right. Older pictures are at the bottom, newer ones are at the top. Sidenote: Internet Explorer stinks--I had the pictures open in their own JavaScript window, but since most people use IE, and IE didn't recognize the code, most of you couldn't see my pictures. Use Mozilla Firefox... it's free!
49

Cleaned up engine and engine bay.
50

Did a photo shoot at a local park.
51

Another shot from the photoshoot.
52

The two main cars in Houtz Classic Automotive.
53

Another image from the photoshoot.
54

The park was next to the fire station. A few firefighters liked our cars (mostly the Mk2), and invited us over for photos.
43

First "Father/Son" car show with people checking out BOTH cars.
44

Dad's 1965 Shelby Cobra replica. My 300 is in the background.
45

More POR-15. Yes, it got all over me again.
46

Cleaning up parts
47

New valley pan. And freshly painted exhaust manifold.
48

Before and after of the intake manifold.
37

Mmm... POR-15. It won't come off your body for weeks. Trust me.
38

Just before I found out the brake lines had rusted through--giving me no stopping ability--but making me thankful for the snow drift at the end of the driveway.
39

The 300 sat in my parent's driveway for awhile. M-O-U-S-E spells trouble.
40

Thanks Pete for this picture-- Shop vacs work great for catching mice on the fly, but they tend to get stuck in the hose.
41

Finally working on the brakes again.
42

New brake cylinders in all the wheels and all new brake lines. A little bit safer than before! (DISCLAIMER: This is the old cylinder)
31

The original truck that Black's Springs used when they first started their business... They've done an outstanding job restoring it!
32

The old alternator (the new one looks the same... except shiny).
33

BEFORE POR-15
34

AFTER POR-15
35

Look at the old spring and shock... sweet, huh?
36

New spring and putting on the new shock!
25

Replaced the spark plugs and cleaned up the spark plug boots.
26

My dad watches as the oil drains from the oil pan.
27

My cousin Kaddy flew in all the way from Germany to see the car... or just to visit... And Ryan rode his motorcycle up from Cincy too!
28

Coolant draining out.
29

While the chrome is still pitted, the dullness has gone out of it. The top has been cleaned, the bottom hasn't.
30

New springs in the bed of my dad's truck.
19

A close up of the bulk head disconnect that has given me so much trouble.
20

Cleaning the engine.
21

Cleaning the engine.
22

I took out the aluminum side... thingies... and cleaned them up some.
23

Chrysler.
24

A better side shot of the car.
13

This is the old air filter... kind of disgusting, huh?
14

Rust issues... thank you NYSDOT (New York State Department of Transportation).
15

The new brake line and the old brake lines... Guess which is which.
16

We took the back wheels off to get at the brake drums easier.
17

The inside of my drum brakes. Wear a dust mask because they sometimes used asbestos in these...
18

Disconnected all 3 connections in Bulk Head, and cleaned the corroded connectors... hopefully we won't have any more problems starting.
7

With the help of the car carrier driver, my dad and I pushed the 300 up the driveway to the garage. We then washed it off.
8

My grandparents and my mom admire the beast.
9

Check it out! Next step is getting it to run, then taking care of the rust on the frame and engine!
10

Speaking of the engine, here is the 383 cubic inch monster. As you can see... lots of clean up to do.
11

Here is some body rust bubbling out from the rear wheel well...
12

Part of the control arm and headers that need to be cleaned up and painted.
1

Here is the 300 sitting in my other uncle's barn for the winter.
2

Because it didn't start, we had to use a tractor to pull it out of the barn.
3

It was covered in bird poop so I had to hose it off. Looks pretty good!
4

We hired a car carrier to deliever it to my grandparent's here in Columbus.
5

Offloading it from the car carrier.
6

Because it still didn't start, we had to push it up the driveway... it's a heavy car!
