1998 Isuzu Rodeo
Fifteen more years until it's considered historic...

Unfortunately, on December 20, 2008, I wrecked the Rodeo. I was driving on an overpass during freezing rain, and lost control at about 40mph. I fishtailed around a bit, thought I had regained control, then lost it again and slid into the jersey barrier. Two cars in front of me had done the same thing. Realizing being on a bridge during freezing rain was not smart, I was able to pull the Rodeo foward about one hundred yards off the bridge, just in time to see 8 cars pile up where I had just been. As one of the earlier wrecks, I got through to a tow truck right away, and only waited about 45 minutes. On the two home (15 miles), we passed about 40 wrecks.

It turns out that although it didn't look horrible to the naked eye, I bent the frame, the steering column, and was leaking oil from somewhere. It wasn't worth repairing. So my first car, which I had dreamed of keeping until I was old, was donated to YFC Wheels. RIP Rodeo.

The pile up behind me.

Doesn't look horrible...

At least the front bumper cover is equally messed up now.

This one and the next one are from replacing the headgasket in 2007.
